Tooth Lifting or Bondin

Cosmetic Dentistry

Tooth lifting is a cosmetic dentistry technique that can give you a flawless and white smile in just a few hours or days. It is a quick and painless restoration technique widely known as bonding.

It is the most modern dental technique that can correct any imperfections in the teeth and give us the bright smile everyone desires.

This technique, combined with the dentist’s artistry and dental advancements, restores any imperfections in the teeth to such an extent that no one can suspect what the teeth looked like before. The material used is composite resins. The restoration is painless, done without anesthesia, is extremely quick, and the choice of color is either natural or a whiter shade. The treatment is completed in one or two appointments, depending on the number of teeth you want to correct.

Immediately after the restoration, the patient can eat anything they want and feels no discomfort.

It is applied in the following cases:

For spaced teeth (to close the gaps or reduce them). For small teeth (to enlarge them). For devitalized teeth (because their color darkens, we make it whiter). For teeth with discoloration (to easily match the color with the adjacent teeth). For teeth with many fillings (to avoid the visible boundaries between the filling and the natural tooth). For crooked teeth (only when orthodontic treatment is not indicated). For teeth with abrasions.

At this point, it should be noted that lifting is not suitable for all the above cases, and only the dentist is qualified to decide if this technique can be applied.

Limitations

For teeth with decay (damaged). For teeth with periodontal issues (gingivitis-periodontitis).

In these cases, treatment of the teeth always precedes (fillings, root canals, cleaning, gingivitis treatment).

Safety

Tooth lifting does not create any problems for the teeth. The composite resins are the same material used for fillings and are absolutely reliable for therapeutic restorations, globally for the last decade.

Duration

The result is long-lasting, unless you are a smoker in which case the color tones may change after some years. However, when the dentition is properly maintained, with good oral hygiene and regular visits to the dentist, the result can last even longer.

Advantages

Very fast results. After the application, which is completed in one visit to the dentist, the teeth look perfectly natural, even if the resin shade is pure white. Low cost. Resin veneers are much less expensive than porcelain ones. Immediate repair. If someone damages a resin veneer, it can be quickly fixed in one appointment.

Disadvantages

Like our natural teeth, composite resins change color over the years. The absolute success of tooth lifting is closely linked to the experience and skill of the dentist who applies it.
